Agents Win Fight for Full 2009 Commissions

Senior Market Sales is pleased to announce that agents can finally celebrate a CMS ruling in their favor. CMS has rescinded its earlier commission guidance, which stated that agents were only entitled to "renewal" commissions for 2009 cases where consumers switched from Original Medicare with a stand-alone PDP to an MA or MAPD plan.

Details are forthcoming, but the good news was summed up by this statement released by CMS: "Agents enrolling a beneficiary with Original Medicare and a PDP into an MA plan or MA-PD, and vice versa, should be paid an initial commission for any such enrollments with effective dates in 2009."
